I’ve been leary about posting this guide mainly because it is tedious and can be difficult for many less skill users to figure out. The automatic alignment usually gets pretty close to being perfect but that small white edge can be annoying. So if you have the time and patience to make the adjustments manually then here are the steps:

a. The printer should be plugged in but turned off.
b. Hold Stop/Reset button and Power button for 5 seconds.
c. Release Stop/Reset button but continue to hold Power button
d. Press Stop/Reset twice.
e. Release the Power Button
f. Wait for Copy any Light to stop blinking before proceeding. (The light differs depending on the model you have.)
g. press stop/reset twice and then power to print EPROM sheet.
Note: If your model doesn’t have a stop/reset button then use the RESUME button instead.
The alignment numbers are underlined in red. The first number is the horizontal, the second number is vertical.
h. Press stop/reset 9 times (Orange) and then power to select it. (((Pressing stop/reset will alternate between orange or green, green goes left and orange goes right as you face the printer *at least on mine*. ))) Press stop/reset and choose green or orange and then press power, the green light should blink twice to confirm a small change has taken place. Repeat h step two or three times then repeat step g again.
i. Press stop/reset 10 times (Green) and then power to select it. (((Pressing stop/reset will alternate between orange or green, green goes up and orange goes down as you face the printer *at least on mine*. ))) Press stop/reset and choose green or orange and then press power, the green light should blink twice to confirm a small change has taken place. Repeat i step two or three times then repeat step g again.
NOTE: If your alignment is off just a little then only do steps h or i once and then print a sheet to see how much the numbers have changed. Then for the real test you will have to exit Service Mode and go back into regular mode, grab a printable disc and print a test disc. I used old cd’s with sticky paper labels on them, so I didn’t waste my good media.
NOTE 2: If you have the older models IP3000, IP4000, IP5000, IP6000, IP8500 then press the resume or stop/reset button 8 and 9 times instead of 9 and 10.
