You have done the Five Easy Steps and everything seems to have worked but it keeps kicking the tray back out and telling you that there is no cd-r or the inner door is open, these are some of the things that might be causing it:
- CDRS=(000) should be something other then zero’s, if it’s zero’s then you should repeat the five steps. You can find CDRS numbers by enter service model as instructed for your model and then pressing the {resume} or {stop/reset} button twice and then the power button. (Sometimes it will be 000 and still work though)
- Try an EPROM reset: http://damnprinter.com/?p=50 some models require this procedure.
- Fully uninstall the driver using the actual uninstaller.exe, then reinstall.
- After clicking print in cd label print wait until the screen tells you to insert the tray otherwise it will reject the tray because it’s not ready for it yet.
- Sometimes unplugging the USB cable and then plugging it back in will fix the problem. This is more a Windows issue.
- Sometimes the USB cable is bad, try another cable.
- You have place a cd/dvd that already has printing on it, the sensors will detect this and eject the tray. This feature is found in the printer preferences under the maintenance tab, click custom settings then uncheck the box call “Detects a printable disc on the cd-r tray”. After trying this be sure to turn it back on because it’s intended as a safety feature.
- CD Label Print and Mac OSX seem to have a real problem with tray rejection but there is a work around for it which can be found here: http://damnprinter.com/?p=181
