1. Remove Black Plastic:

ip4700

Should come out pretty easy, some could do it with a finger, others will need a screwdriver.

2. Enter Service Mode:

a. The printer is plugged in but turned off.

b. Hold down the RESUME button (Triangle pointed down) .

c. Keep holding the RESUME button and now hold down the Power Button as well.

d. After 5 seconds of holding both buttons let go of the RESUME button but keep holding the POWER button.

e. Press the RESUME twice and then let go of the POWER button.

f. When the Power LED lights in green*, the printer is ready for the service mode operation and the CD-Print Tool.

Note: Some models have a STOP or RESET button instead of a RESUME button.

Note2: William  Crowther emailed to tell me the Power LED is blue on the Pro9500 MKII.

3. Launch the CD-Print-Tool v5 CD-PrintTool-v5 (1445)

a. Choose the right printer via USB PORT (unplug all printers except the Canon).

b. Choose EUR Mode for region and click SET……WAIT for it tell you it finished.

c. Click “Print 2” button. Select rear tray (make sure you have paper loaded). Press OK.

2038

d. The sheets should have EURO now listed instead of US.  Also look for CDRS = (xxxx), this number should change.

e. Exit Service mode by pushing the power button on the printer itself.

4. Reinstall the driver:

a. Changes to the printer have been made but won’t show up in the printer properties until the driver is uninstalled and reinstalled. You may also choose to download the European driver.

5. System Requirements:

a. The CD Print Tool only runs under Windows. Many Macs will run Windows and Windows 7 Enterprise Trial can be downloaded forFREE.  It shouldn’t be hard to find a laptop running Windows in all corners of the globe.

b. (Windows) CD Label Print 1.41 download
c. (Mac) CD Label Print 1.81 download
d.Nero Cover Designer
e.Disc Label
f.Accoustica CD Labeler
g.Adobe Print Direct Template

h. Purchase Tray G {sold on ebay}.

Canon CD Tray G-ppc

Note: CD Label Print is notoriously buggy software, please test with other shareware titles before you think the process has failed.

1. Remove plastic blocking opening
This can be done very easily with a screw driver. Just lower the door down and slide a flathead screwdriver down behind the plastic piece and very gently push forward.

Be very careful not to damage the soft bendable plastic, might want to wrap the screwdriver in tape first so it doesn’t scrap the plastic either.

I recommend placing the screwdriver in at one end, don’t try it in the middle.

It should pop out without much effort.
