1. Remove plastic blocking opening
This can be done very easily with a screw driver. Just lower the door down and slide a flathead screwdriver down behind the plastic piece and very gently push forward.

Be very careful not to damage the soft bendable plastic, might want to wrap the screwdriver in tape first so it doesn’t scrap the plastic either.

I recommend placing the screwdriver in at one end, don’t try it in the middle.

It should pop out without much effort.

I have a MP780 printer, everything seems to go okay until I get to section 2a …
option [6] cd-R Calibration. a blank piece of paper is sucked from the rear tray.
This does not happen just the alarm light flashes. I can see that rear tray is selected and I know the printer “sees” paper is loaded because I printed a picture using the rear tray prior to beginning the whole process.
I have tried time after time, always with the same results.
    HELP! any ideas?
